Hatred

You guys ever had a child to hate you all because they are brainwashed from the father, your ex-husband?

Hate is a really deep and strong word and I try to never use it in my vocabulary. Having a manipulative and a narcissist as your ex-husband can definitely stress you out. I am a living witness of this experience, that I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy. I love my son to death, but all he tells me is to loose his number, at the mere age of 15.

Look at me now….

A couple months back, I decided to go to Luna’s Cafe, but little did anyone know, I’ve been trying to go for months. The invisible disability that I suffer from, would not allow me to attend this special poetry night. I have been afraid to go anywhere alone, from going to a restaurant, a movie theater or just to sit outside at the nearest coffee shop, I REFUSED TO DO IT ALONE! Deep down inside, I was fearful of what people would say or even think about me sitting alone. Since I’ve moved here in California, I feel like it was a great new change for me. I have been able to involve myself in all sorts of things I’d never thought I could do! From coffee shops, to poetry nights, from small restaurants to large ones, I’m even going to Farmers Markets, too!

I have been tough enough to do it alone, and I am very proud of me!!!

Tanika Rideau

I am from Fort Worth, Texas, raised in Beaumont, Texas and now I reside in Sacramento, CA. I am a single mother of five. Ages range from 25, 19, 18, 16, & 14 years old. I am also divorced as of May 2015 & went through domestic violence thinking I was just find because he never put his hands on me! Little did I know, after about five counselors, a couple of psychiatrists and some classes with mentors, I woke up!!!

I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and no ones story is the same, we all have gone through some type of pain here and there.

I’ve decided to go public with my story using this blog so I can be heard and also help anyone who needs resources or just someone to listen to the story that you have! Sometimes it’s better talking to strangers than your own friends or family!
